This peaceful song arranged for 2 C-instruments with piano accompaniment was inspired by the thoughts expressed in Psalm 19:1-4, Psalm 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God," and Job 37:14
"ListenStand still, and consider the wondrous works of God." God knew that our lives would become busy and involved and we would need to occasionally pause and listen; to refresh, recharge, reconnect. The opening theme of this instrumental trio echoes throughout reminding listeners to
"Stand Still and Listen." The relaxed, lyrical style of this instrumental piece creates a warm, pleasant ambiance and is an ideal selection for a prelude in a church setting.
Though notated with FLUTE on part 1 and VIOLIN on part 2, the ranges are also accessible for other combinations of C instruments (2 violins, 2 flutes, etc.). Ranges are as follows: FLUTE (part 1) first G above middle C to the second B above (G4 to B5); VIOLIN (part 2) first E above middle C to the second B above (E4 to B5).
The FLUTE carries the melody for the first verse and then the two instruments alternate on the second verse creating an echo effect. The purchase price includes a 5-page combined score with all parts on each page plus separate scores for the FLUTE and VIOLIN (2 pages each) and a PIANO only score (3 pages). Duration 2:40.
Lyrics:"Stand still and listen to nature's voices, as all creation around us rejoices. A sound may not be heard, for they speak not a word, but their message reaches everyone: God created everything through His Son. Stand still and listen to natures voices, as all creation around us rejoices. Stand still and listen. God speaks through creation. Stand still and listen. Stand still and listen."
