Product Description
This short piano work takes the concept of the march as a starting point, before taking its own, original course. The piece is framed by an introduction and coda, and particularly features a catchy, recurring main theme in C minor, centred on tonic and dominant minor harmonies. This theme is contrasted by episodes of tension, created by chromatically descending triads against a tonic pedal. The work explores the wide range of the piano, as well as rhythmic interplay, textures of parallel triads against octaves, and chromatic passages. The piece is highly accessible and is appropriate for most standards of pianist, including students and more advanced players.
Duration: 3 minutes 55 seconds.
