This Prelude is based on the well-known hymn tune, Hamburg, written by Lowell Mason (1792-1872) and the famous words, When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, by Isaac Watts (1674-1748). It was composed/arranged to be played as prelude music at church services during the season of Lent, and on Good Friday.
