Product Description
Joe Pass is a name that is well-known among guitar players as having set a benchmark for solo performances of jazz standards that few can match, and whose creativity and technical wizardry have made his recordings legendary. His 1973 release, entitled Virtuoso, is considered to be one of the greatest jazz guitar recordings of all time.
When I came up with the SUPERFLUTE concept of treating a group of different-sized flutes as a single instrument, I was thinking about Classical literature applications, but I realized it could work for jazz as well. I give you, then, Joe's solo version of the Jerome Kern classic All the Things You Are, scored for three C flutes, with alto and bass flute. My adaptive scoring technique - you play the big notes and follow the small ones - allows for a seamless ensemble experience. I hope that you enjoy this music as much as I do!
