Robert Muczynski Op. 29 Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Wind Band

It's a very nice piece. The first movement is a nice, slow, gentle piece with moments of intensity. The second movement is very tense, with very little breaks in fury. Technique-wise, I'd pit this somewhere in between Paul Crestons Sonata on the lower side and Fantasia for Alto Sax by Claude T. Smith. These pieces include some awkward scalar runs, quick toungeing, and altissimo up to a Bb, with plenty of G's all around. If your comfortable with your full range major scales, getting into or already know your full range minor scales, are a fast single tounger or can double tounge quite well, and are comfortable with skipping around from low Bb to altissimo Bb and all the notes between, then this is a good fit for you. I'd not, try Tableaux de Provence or Paul Credtons Sonata first. In this copy, there is a misprinted note in measure thirteen, the second note says c# in this copy, but it's really common thing in saxophone music, so I'd just fix it and move on
