David Wallace attended Bowling Green State University where he was mentored by the great R. D. Mathey, and the choral training was well used!
He has directed men and women's barbershop style choruses, community choruses, and church choirs for 50 years. His competitive choruses has done quite well, including a top-ten international finish. He was also the lead of the 1984 International Champion Quartet "The Rapscallions".
His published arrangements for church choir have been quite popular, as well as his arrangements for groups in the barbershop world, being performed by quartets and choruses such as "The Ambassadors of Harmony", (Barbershop Harmony Society multiple International Champion), "The San Diego Chorus", "Kansas City Chorus", and "Gem City" of Sweet Adelines, "Old School" International Champion Quartet, and many others.
