Justin P. Miller

Justin Miller is a sought after Choral Conductor, Composer, Arranger, Clinician, Consultant, and Coach.  He is perhaps best known for being the Musical Director of the Westminster Chorus from 2008 to 2022. Under his leadership Westminster has grown into an ensemble with a diverse repertoire while keeping its roots in Barbershop music. In 2009, Justin led the Westminster Chorus to the title of “Choir of the World” at the International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales, and to the International Chorus Championship of the Barbershop Harmony Society in 2010, 2015 and 2019. The Westminster Chorus has toured all over the United States and several other countries including Canada, New Zealand, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Justin has also led other award-winning barbershop ensembles including The Masters of Harmony and the Big Apple Chorus. He now directs Vocal Summit, a new ensemble based out of Portland, OR.
 
As an Arranger, Justin has arranged for the biggest names in the Barbershop Harmony Society, including the Westminster Chorus, the Vocal Majority, the Masters of Harmony, Fog City Singers, Voices of Gotham, as well as numerous quartets. He has also arranged music in both Contemporary A Cappella and Choral styles. Justin has a Choral Publishing Series with National Music Publishers and has a number of his own compositions and arrangements published in that series, along with compositions and arrangements of other high profile composers and arrangers.
 
Justin was a high school choral music teacher for 15 years, and his high school choirs were consistently adjudicated highly in festivals and contests. Justin recently completed his Master of Music in Conducting from Portland State University.
 
Justin is very active with ACDA, NAfME, and the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS).  He has led Honor Choirs, Masterclasses, and Clinics in a variety of capacities for these organizations. In addition, he has been on the faculty of Harmony University and was a Certified Music Judge for the BHS. Justin has had articles published in several publications, including The Choral Conductors Companion compiled and edited by Brian J. Winnie, and Arranging Barbershop: Visions of Excellence published by the Barbershop Harmony Society.
 
Justin is married to Andrea, and together they have two children: Tenley and Mason.
