Jeff Davis

Mr. Davis has degrees in music education from East Texas State University (BMu) and Southern Methodist University (Masters music Ed.). His music journey began while singing in graded choirs in the Methodist Church and playing trumpet since Junior High. Being involved in choral and band programs throughout Junior High and High School and in the church built the foundation for his future as a musician. This included earning awards in the state solo and ensemble and regional bands and choirs.  Mr. Davis sang tenor in choirs under the direction of noted directors such as Jim Henderson, Charles Nelson, Lloyd Pfautsch, and David Davidson and performed trumpet in wind ensembles, jazz band, brass choir, and orchestras throughout his life. This included peforming in wind ensembles at the National Music Educators and TMEA conventions. He lead the Garland Brass Quintet for about 10 years and performed in the Garland Symphony. After retiring from teaching Mr. Davis continues to be involved in music by composing and arranging sacred anthems, singing in the church choir, and playing trumpet for church services.
