Symphony in E minor FIRST MOVEMENT As far as we know, this is the only symphony composed in Africa. It requires a standard orchestra. It could be played by an average amateur group. Parts are available. This movement is majestic and vivacious by turns, full of melody, good fun for all the instruments, plenty of contrasts in colour, easy listening but with harmonic surprises and an exciting climax. Look at the other three movements, too: quirky, dance-like, noble: something for everybody.
