This R&B/jazz piece is appropriate for baritones and second tenors. It's a very soulful, contemplative song that would make an excellent performance choice for engagements and venues in which a relaxing is atmosphere is desired. Its duration is 2:49, a slight abbreviation of the original recording.

The lyrical content is appropriate for non-adult singers, though given the tessitura of the melody, post-pubescent singers are more likely to have success performing it. Pedagogically, this piece affords singers an opportunity to work on breath support (due to its long tones), vibrato, and grace notes (which by African American performance practice, occur frequently enough that notating them would have been impractical). In general, ornamentation is a central feature of African American singing, and the best way to absorb this style is to listen to great examples.
