Claude Debussy (1862-1918) was a French composer and pianist. He was experimental in his compositional techniques, favouring dissonance, chromaticism, and the use of non-traditional scales. 

The adaptation of this piano piece for accompanied double bassist is of grade 5-6 difficulty. It offers some challenging rhythmic passages, upper register playing, and an opportunity to practice good bowing technique.
