This unassuming, but nevertheless delightful Trio is taken from Bach's '6 Partitas' first published in 1726. This arrangement is Gigue from Partita No.5 BWV829a. In the slightly unusual metre of 4/2, it meanders its way through some beautiful harmonic and melodic passages, and lends itself perfectly to this particular instrumental combination!
