Product Description

West Texas, Fort Davis, is the fourth movement of "A Texas Symphony", and depicts a day in the life of a Texas Buffalo cavalry soldier, riding out on patrol. The music opens with a trumpet solo, representing an original bugle theme.  The opening music is rhythmic with overlapping themes that depict activity on the parade field of the fort.  As the soldiers ride out, the percussion switches from snare to claves and tambourine, and the rhythm switches from march-like to gigue-like symbolizing the cavalry riding out.  At one point, a chase ensues, then the opening themes return with the soldiers' return to the fort.  Length is approximately 12 minutes.
