Product Description
KINDERTRANSPORT is an evocative piano solo, for an intermediate/advanced-level pianist. This gorgeous and melancholy theme is reminiscent of romantic classical music, and recalls the World War II era. It should be expressively played, and is suitable for recital, performance, instructional use, or simply personal enjoyment.
The backdrop of the World War II era lends a historical context to the story behind this music. "Kindertransport" refers to the rescue mission in which Jewish children were transported by train to British foster homes during the Holocaust. This piano solo is excerpted from a larger score for the multi-media theatrical production of "The Narrowing" produced by Archipelago Theater, which premiered in 2013.
