It is a beautiful traditional Catalan Christmas song that recounts the joy of birds
for the birth of the Child Jesus. It became very popular around the world when
it was performed by the great cellist Pablo Casals at the end of his concerts and
recitals. El cant dels ocells has become a symbol of peace and freedom in Catalonia
and in the rest of the world.
Reviewing old papers, I found this arrangement made in 1982. It is a youth work.
In this new version I have added a new arrangement for the second verse.
In short, they are two arrangements, twinned by the same theme, with a difference
of almost 40 years!
