Product Description

CRYIN SAXES by Joe Procopio CRYIN SAXES is an exclusive solo for two saxophones based on the shuffle beat - known as the Shag down South. It is great Dance Music with a "swing" feel and was extremely popular in the Fifties. The Shag is still popular in the Carolinas and remains the State Dance for South Carolina. CRYIN SAXES has a melody that imitates the sobbing sound of someone crying. For example, it has a "Boo Hoo" imitation written in notes in the melodys 2nd measure. But this is done humorously with no serious intention. Its all in GREAT FUN. There are very few saxophone solos for two saxophones that are as much fun as CRYIN SAXES and HONKIN HORNS. They offer great listening pleasure and are a delight to play. People love to dance to this music. Speaking from personal experience, I have never found any saxophone music that gives more pleasure to playing, listening and dancing than CRYING SAXES and HONKIN HORNS. The music here is written for Two Alto Saxophones or for Alto and Tenor Saxophone with a small quartet Piano, Guitar, Bass and Drums. A SPECIAL COLLECTION EDITION OF HONKIN HORNS AND CRYIN SAXES IS AVAILABLE FOR ONLY $14.95
