Product Description

Edward Elgar wrote his Variations on an Original Theme in 1899; each variation was meant to portray one of Elgar's close friends. The ninth movement, "Nimrod" is about and conversation that the composer had with music editor, Augustus J. Jaeger. They discussed the beauty of Beethovens slow movements and this can be heard in "Nimrod." This horn ensemble arrangement recreates this Beethovenian beauty with warm voicing.

An optional 9th horn part is included to take place of tuba
