Product Description

This is THE very popular "Polonaise" by Chopin. Of course this was originally written for piano- but now cleverly arranged for saxophone choir (one soprano saxophone, three alto saxophones, two tenor saxophones, one baritone saxophone with low "A" key). This is a superb piece to showcase your best saxophones, and is an impressive piece for any contest or concert! Efforts have been made to arrange parts to fit the range and ease of fingerings for each instrument. The baritone saxophone part is particularly challenging (and the instrument must have the low "A" key). This was a tradeoff in order to keep the piece true to the composer's original piano part. Many logically-placed rehearsal markings make rehearsals efficient. A stately tempo not only creates a magnificent, majestic feel, but also helps keep ornaments and fingerings elegant. This is a very rewarding piece for performers and audience alike.
