He was the leading Italian composer and organist in Venice at its greatest heights at the chasm between the end of the Renaissance and the beginning of the Baroque period in music.  

Presented here is one of Gabrielis more larger works in the form of a Sonata. A variety of substitute parts are also included to handle trombone parts with Bb trumpets and F Horns. One of Gabrielis most beautiful works, the harmonies and tonality of this piece are startling with how modern this piece sounds. A great work that displays some of his most glorious sounding melodies.
