Product Description

The campanilleros are groups of traditional musicians from Andalusia, Extremadura, and southern Castile-La Mancha, who sing religious songs, often during the Advent and Christmas season, accompanied by guitars, bells, and other folk instruments. These bell-ringers choirs are especially known for singing rosaries at dawn, creating a deeply spiritual and communal atmosphere.

The processional march Pasan los campanilleros was composed in 1924 by Manuel López Farfán, a prominent Andalusian bandmaster. The piece, which has become part of the Holy Week repertoire in Andalusia, is a tribute to these musicians and incorporates melodic elements from their traditional songs.

This arrangement brings together liturgical solemnity and folk vitality, making it a powerful and culturally rich addition to any seasonal performance.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
