Product Description
'Quiet' is a song from the 2010 Tim Minchin musical 'Matilda', which won 7 Olivier awards and 5 Tonys. A song about an introvert child, who feels different, the lyric is about need for 'quiet', both from internal emotion and from the world outside. It expresses an anger with the world, which cannot be expressed, and finishes with calm.
Originally written to be sung by a little girl, this arrangement was devised for a show about being different in America in 2013, and featured a 12 year old boy soloist, whose voice was beginning to change. It could also be sung by an adult tenor, and demands clarity of diction. The arrangement is largely a solo feature, and the chorus parts are simple and brief - used as support, expressing the feelings of the protagonist and adding to the mood.
