This C Major concerto is a programatic work, dedicated to the composer's friend, Janice M. Puckett. The three movements of the concerto tell the story of a young child; birth (First movement: "Joy"), childhood (Second movement: "Lullaby") and teenage years (Third movement: "Journey"). All three movements are written in major keys and filled with lyricism and hope for the future. There are some colorful harmonic changes, engaging rhythms and beautiful "tuneful" melodies.
