OConnors Folk Mass, an a cappella work that was composed in response to the 9/11 attacks on the United States in 2001. The Folk Mass text is taken from the books f The Old Testament and is composed in seven movements. Full of glorious melodies, harmonies and syncopated rhythms, set in a double choir configuration, OConnor takes the stories of the Old Testament and brings them to music using the text as his artistic guide.
Suitable for professional and university choral ensembles in both secular and religious performances. Individual movements can be performed separate from the entire work.
Original music printed from the composers manuscripts.
