The title refers to the continuous 7/8 metre on which the piece is based. This asymmetric metre, rarely used in western classical music, was the source of inspiration and lends this piece its driving quality. The title was chosen in allusion to the famous jazz piece "Take five" by Paul Desmond, using from a 5/4 metre.
