Product Description

This well -known and beautiful old English folk song has been arranged for solo harp. It features beautiful "harpy" arpeggios that are easy to do, and a wonderful way to learn to connect notes in long phrases between hands. Playable by beginners, it sounds rich enough for anyone. In fact it was written when one of my students complained that the version I gave didn't sound like the harp she had in her head - so I wrote this one for her.

The original song has female and male voices trading off their demands to prove their love for the other. The second verse has this idea, as the left hand plays the melody and the right adds some ripply chords above.

Then we return to the first verse ideas to finish the piece.

It is in D dorian, which means levers or pedals are set for the key of C, but the tonal centre is D. There are no accidentals.
I'd call it advanced beginner - it uses 151 351 chords to accomplish the arpeggios and the chord shapes stay the same, so it is a motivating piece to begin to learn those pattern with.
