Product Description

This is an adaption of Telemann's violin concerto in A major "The frogs" TWV51. I have made it accessible to an amateur or young intermediate string orchestra and an advanced soloist/star pupil. This is of the more interesting pieces of the era, following the long established tradition of illustrating nature through music. The idea is that there is a solo frog and a chorus of frogs answering, so Telemann has used some really wild harmonies, effects and shocking discords which should be much exaggerated to give the colorful, fun character! This arrangement keeps almost to the original but has a little help from violas for the high cello parts, a realized keyboard part and a lot of annotations such as bowing to help less experienced players. There are many good performances on youtube to listen to. The hooked bowings are original and should really grunt! Have fun! Here is a good example of the original.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1Zsk55I2Ww
