Product Description

An Eriskay Love Lilt, or Gràdh Geal Mo Chridh to give it's original Gaelic title is a popular Scottish song, originating in the small island of Eriskay in the Outer Hebrides. The English lyrics were added in 1905 by popular Scots singer Marjory Kennedy-Fraser, who embarked on a project to save many declining Gaelic songs. The song is now very popular and has been recorded by Aled Jones, The Corries and Jean Redpath. The tune is also popular with Scottish churchgoers, with new lyrics and title Lord of life, we come to you.

Lyrics to all three verses and chorus are included along with a suggested piano part, although if you'd prefer, you can play the chords on the guitar, ukulele or on any other instrument.
