Product Description
"Bombardes"--that full throated reedy full organ sound which stirs everyone (especially organists!)
"Bombast"--pompous language with little meaning used to impress people
Yep, those two words describe this piece.
Originally an Allegro con Brio Romantic Prelude for piano which I have arranged and restyled as a Maestoso Grand Overture for organ. Full ponderous chords in a descending chromatic progression written to emphasize that bottom octave of the 32' pedal. Its minor key drama fits a Lenten Processional, or any Recital or Concert (especially a Halloween concert).
5 pages, 3 minutes
(MP3 Audio-Even though this was recorded on a million dollar pipe organ with four 32s, I did not have the proper recording equipment to do it justice.)
(YouTube Video-special thanks to Lynn Vera, CAGO, for permission to link to her recording of this piece.)
