Product Description

A new transcription for clarinet and piano of the first movement of Johannes Brahms' beautiful, autumnal Clarinet Quintet (Clarinet in A and String Quartet). CLARINET PART INCLUDED

This is the only published arrangement of Brahms' wonderful Clarinet Quintet which uses the Henle Urtext edition, correcting a number of mistakes in previous editions. The piano part has been devised to incorporate as much of the string quartet accompaniment as possible. Where this causes the pianist difficulties, Brahms' original concept are shown as small notes which can either be incorporated into a performance where possible or ignored. This reproduces Brahms' brilliant textures and rich, autumnal harmonic colours to their fullest extent.

Please note: this is an arrangement of the first movement (Allegro) only.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
