For solo melody or simple ensemble, Pumpkin Seeds is excellent for new note readers in either bass or treble clef; a version of each is included.  Notes are drawn from E, F#, G, A, & B using easily discerned patterns. Melody rhythms include quarter, half, and whole notes.  Maracas rhythms copy the melody until their four beat solo spots.  These are notated with eighth note pairs but are also handy places for rhythmic improvistion.  Paired with craft activities and delicious pumpkin seed snacks, this fall-inspired song is full of possibilities.
