Product Description
Originally written for solo piano, Beethoven's Bagatelles are well-known for their beautiful melodies and the master's diverse musical idioms.
This arrangement has been made for string ensemble (violin I, II; viola; violoncello and contrabass) .
According to Eugen d'Albert (1864- 1932), these Bagatelles "form
excellent examples of the master's work of the last period." As for Bagatelle No. 10, he suggests that it be played "playfully, coquettishly, but always with simplicity." (quoted from
Piano Compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven. Boston: O. Ditson, 1909)
The original key of Bagatelle No. 9 is A minor, which has been transcribed here to G minor, and that of No. 10 in A major, accordingly, to G major .
