Product Description

Scored for 2 Violins, Viola and Violoncello, there is a Third Violin part which is an alternative for Viola. There is also an optional Contrabass part so the arrangement can be performed by a String Orchestra.
To a Wild Rose is one of the most popular pieces from Edward MacDowells Woodland Sketches (Op.51) written in 1896.  While the melody of To a Wild Rose has a poignant and retrospective romantic simplicity, more contemporary textures are achieved through the use of more progressive chords with altered, fifths, sevenths and ninths. The overall effect is an endearing charm that has contributed to its longevity.
