From the album Light As A Feather (1971), Spain stands as one of Chick Corea's most well-known works. It receives two Grammy nominations and Corea earned a Best Instrumental Arrangement Grammy in 2001 for his setting "Spain for Sextet and Orchestra". Here, the essential elements are captured for a standard jazz band saxophone section of two altos, two tenors, and a baritone in an arrangement accessible by most high school groups. This can be used to feature the saxes for a moment in your program while giving the brass players a break.
