Product Description

Bossa Blues is a quasi-blues, 24 bar tune with an interesting melody that follows the major scale. There are two sections that feature a solo violin, one that rides above the ensemble, and the other that is jazz improvisation.  There are two written-out suggested solos for the young jazz improviser, one more intricate than the other; but it is always suggested that students attempt to create their own solos over the chord changes provided.  As is the case n most jazz ensemble string arrangements, one solo acoustic or electric bass may be used in place of the entire bass section to create more of a true jazz rhythm section feel. If the entire bass section is preferred,  there should be just one bass at the improvisation sections where chord changes are provided.
