Product Description

This Piano Trio is a 3 mvt work describing a journey.The 1st. mvt. Prelude (Setting off) is in a minimalist style depicting the mesmerising nature of travel. The 2nd. mvt. Meditation (Taking stock) shows the wide range and depth of thoughts and emotions that can come when you are still and let your mind wander. The Finale (Going home) is a moto perpetuo full of the excitement at heading back renewed and energised. This Piano Trio was commissioned by Margaret Lewissohn and premiered by The Isis Piano Trio. It has been recorded by The Fujita Trio.(c. 21 mins)

Originally from Glasgow, Timothy studied at the Royal College of Music, London and the Banff Centre, Canada. He was the Pianist for the Isis Piano Trio and Ballet Creations and is now in demand as an accompanist and chamber musician having performed with artists such as Dame Sarah Connolly and Tasmin Little. He has toured widely internationally and has recorded for BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM as well as TV appearances in Russia and Egypt. Murrays compositions have been recorded by The Fibbonnaci Sequence and Piers Lane among others with reviews such as Corruscating (Independent) and Highly imaginative (The Sunday Times).
