The solo parts can be sung by either adults or young performers and the work can be performed as a cantata or fully staged. An ancient bard and a band of Wee Folk (mischievous Scottish elves) recount an extraordinary 17th century Scottish tale of the clans MacNab and MacNeish. The opera is a morality tale that ultimately promotes friendship and co-operation. Duration c. 45 minutes.
