Why write (or play) pieces for left hand alone?
1. My college piano teacher assigned my first LH Alone piece (Prélude For Left Hand Alone by Alexander Scriàbin after I injured my right hand because needed to
keep my practice going.
2. Its concentrated practice for advancing all of the left hand skills.
3. For those of us who are right handed, we dont always listen to the
phrasing we are creating with our left hands. Playing a melody line with the
left hand alone forces one to critique and correct the musicality of the left
hand.
4. It forces the left hand to move from register to register on the
piano.
5. There is wonderful literature for left hand alone that is worth
playing.
Suitable for Preludes, Offertories, Concerts. Includes 2 versions 1) Piano Score 2) small page format for performing from 8.9 inch
tablet
