The most popular musical setting of it in the United States is the tune commonly known as "Mueller". It was composed by James R. Murray and was first published under the name "Luther's Cradle Hymn", in his collection Dainty Songs for Little Lads and Lasses, in 1887. It was intended for use in kindergarten, school and home.
