The fifth & sixth sonatas in A minor and E major of a set of twelve published in Rome in 1694 for 2 violins & cello or continuo have been arranged for flute, oboe & bassoon or cello. Each sonata has 4 movements and, while technically within the capabilities of players of intermediate standard, they require a more sophisticated level of ornamentation especially in the slow movements. An opportunity for a trio to develop their improvisational skills together, perhaps. First listen to good recordings of these pieces in their original scoring and imitate before experimenting with your own ideas.
