Nor'easter - Latchstring Lullaby Walkabouts
Written during the 2018 Artist-in-Residence program with the KISMET Foundation, Yarmouth, Maine. The work reflects the beauty, energy and spirit of Yarmouths people and nature on the shores of Casco Bay, Maine. It opens with a sunrise and includes references to the snow and waves of springtime noreaster storms, bird calls of sea gulls and osprey, and sounds of a lobster boat motor; it concludes with a fading sunset.
The parts are 8 pages each, and are fully cued with the other instruments parts. The format works best used on a tablet with hands-free page turns.
Duration: 11-12 mins.
YouTube performance of premiere, May 2018
