Product Description
Like all of Adele's albums 25 is an fantastic collection of
songs among which "When We Were Young" is apart. In this sheet music
for piano it contains all the music notes needed for any beginner pianist bored
of classical music scores to take a break and play something at their level but
which is current, and this particular pop music sheet music is just that.
Where Could I Use
this Music??
This piece could be used to showcase a student's talent at a
recital. Playing something that is current and known always gets the attention
of the audience. Also, used as part of a well rounded repertoire for those in
the initial grades of the piano this will help keep interest while at the same
time covering what is required for the beginner levels.
If you would like to use this piece for yourself or a pupil
in an examination, please ensure you confirm with the examination bored it is
of the required level.
It is appropriate for schools and students. As it contains
the chords and lyrics an ensemble can be quickly created using this music. It
has been simplified in that some complicated melody rhythms have been made less
syncopated so that it is easier for the beginner to play. This has been done in
a way which tries to maintain as much as possible the integrity of the melody,
and I believe this does so well. A lot of easy piano songs compromise a little
too much of the melody where as this piece has the right balance I believe.
This music does not include the full song for sake of brevity.
It includes the main verses and choruses and ending used in the song on the CD.
The "when we were young" chorus is not included as well as the "It's
hard to admit that everything just takes me back...." part. So structure is Verse 1, 2, Pre Chorus,
Chorus, Verse 2, Pre Chorus, final chorus.
Performance and
Practice
Suggested fingering is included for your reference but
please use whichever fingering makes sense to you. The left hand doesn't move
out of position too much. If you just stretch the thumb a little to get
"A" below middle "C" and then it needs to move up in thirds
when the chorus hits.
The right hand is a little more difficult as it covers a
wide range. By and large it stays within two positions with the odd jump to the
"E" just above middle "C" in the verses.
It would be wise to note where the position shifts come and
practice each section/phrase in the required position and then practice moving
between those positions.
