Product Description
Mozart composed the Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major, K. 331, in three movements possibly around 1783. The piece is best known for its third movement, "Rondo alla turca." However the first movement, "Andante grazioso," also stands well on its own. The theme is beautiful and almost melancholic in its simplicity, and the six variations are inventive and approachable for the listener.
This version translates the piano score for five modern brass instruments. It transposes the original key to A-flat but otherwise preserves the beauty and ingenuity of the composition.
This arrangement was completed in 2012, and performance time runs
about 7 minutes, 13 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to
provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for
euphonium) at no charge; contact him directly at
lessmith61@bellsouth.net. For more arrangements by Les, enter
