This popular ballad is only 8 measures of melody and three chords of harmony for 24 measures per verse. The Harp plays accompaniment on two verses and melody on the other two verses. The Harp part is playable on either Lever or Pedal Harp.

The ballad tells the tale of how an Irish lad is tricked by his lover and then sentenced to seven years penal servitude in Tasmania.
