What Makes You Beautiful as performed by One Direction, arranged for Orff/marimba ensemble by Doug Edwards. This is a full arrangement of the song. It is intended for intermediate to advanced levels of school Orff and marimba ensembles. It comes with score and parts. The Orff parts are in alphanote format to help young musicians who may not have strong enough skills to read standard notation. The student alphanote parts provided are
an outline of the song. These sheets show only the necessary patterns to play
for the seven sections of the piece. This reduction was purposely done for
younger students with limited music notation and navigation skills. The
sections are labeled A-G on the score and parts. The director should use these labels
for guiding and cueing students through the songs form.
Melody Options: The melody is notated in
the soprano part, however, if it desired to use a soloist (instrument or
vocal), a separate melody lead sheet is provided. In this case the sopranos
should be re-assigned to the alto or tenor part. Lyrics are not provided but can be found online.
