Derek Hasted writes "This is an arrangement for 4 (or more) guitars of the well-known main theme to the film series Pirates Of The Caribbean.

Based on my arrangement for The Hampshire Guitar Orchestra, this has already proved to be an exhilarating crowd-pleaser in concert!

Guitar 4 is tuned to 6=D and is in two voices, staying in the lowest two positions on the neck. The other parts will benefit from going up the neck if possible, though Guitars 2 and 3 can be played in first position.

The piece is surprisingly loud and impressive in concert because the notes in all the parts are constantly refreshed before they start to fade.

This suits an intermediate ensemble, but the more skilled the players, the faster and more energetic the piece will become.
