Derek Hasted writes "This delightful setting of the 23rd Psalm (The Lord Is My Shepherd) by Howard Goodall is well-known in the UK and elsewhere as the Theme Tune to the gentle TV comedy "The Vicar Of Dibley".

My arrangement for flute and guitar is very accessible and straightforward, but still contains all the thematic material of the original. In a nod to the medieval sound that a choir conjures up when singing this modern setting, the guitar part is played with a Capo on the 3rd fret, to mimic the pitch range of the lute and to make the sound lighter and more ethereal. The flute part is played at pitch, so the full score is set in two keys - the capo does all the magic!

Dynamics are suggested that mirror the original (with choir, organ and full orchestra) but the guitar fingering and the flute breath points are yours to choose - just make sure you make the performance "yours"...
