Originally written by JS Bach for double choir, Der Geist hilt unsrer Schwachheit aug has been edited and arranged here for string orchestra. The strings are divided into eight parts; four violin, two viola, cello and bass. This is a great work for an advanced high school orchestra, as well as college and professional orchestras. Every part is an integral part of the whole work, so each player has the opportunity play a leading role in the piece. It also allows the creativity of the director to come into play as to the positioning of the orchestra. It can be divided into two orchestras spaced apart or grouped into sections of six or seven, knowing that the upper strings greatly out number the cello and especially basses. String set sold separately.
