Medieval Gothic Lied by Neidhardt von Reuenthal (c 1180-1240) and Variations built upon the medieval 6 note scale, by Georg Mertens.
"Maienzeit" is probably the oldest song I know. He was the most famous "Minnesinger (love song writer)" of the Gothic medieval period. He is the only Minne singer, whose songs made it over 300 years to be printed - in different versions, according to the area they had travelled to.
