This Galliard by John Dowland is one of the rare Renaissance pieces I found possible to transcribe for cello solo. Since it is a slow Galliard it suits the cello drawing out the melody and not having to deal with soloistic runs and arpeggios as often used in Renaissance lute music. A pleasure to play.
