Product Description

"The Wild Rover" is a drinking song that may date back as far as the 16th century. It is nowadays one of the most popular Irish ballads, although its origin is uncertain. I had a special request to play this tune for a 2022 St. Patrick's celebration, which inspired me to write this arrangement.
I've scored and recorded this tune for tenor recorder and violin, with each instrument getting a chance to play the melody line. I've added double stops in the violin part for a fuller, more energetic sound.
This duo can also be played on flute and violin, on soprano recorder (an octave higher than tenor recorder) and violin, or on penny whistle and violin.
